My work returns to a process I began as an undergraduate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I started burning my weavings and rebuilding them into layered compositions.

I am drawn to the moment when a material passes through transformation and begins to reveal a different kind of beauty. Through charring, layering, stitching, and reconstruction, the work explores the tension between fragility and resilience, destruction and repair.

My current series, Landscape of Blessings, unfolds as a series of abstract terrains—charred surfaces layered with found objects and small leather packets holding handwritten prayers. Gold leaf moves across the work like light or atmosphere, bridging scorched landscapes with the night sky as a gesture of hope and ascent. Star systems emerge through vintage watch gears, while stitched light portals made from metal kimono thread and anchored with crystals or beads appear quietly within the compositions, often almost missed.

Additional works explore charring and gold leaf as shifting landscapes of suns and moons.

At its core, the work explores transformation, prayer, and what is present but not always seen.

Private Commissions

I accept a small number of commissions, each approached as a collaborative and intuitive process. Often incorporating personal elements such as written intentions or prayers. These works are created to hold meaning as well as presence. The goal is always to create something quietly resonant, shaped by both the client and the space it is made for.
